1st day: In the evening arrival at Thessaloniki by bus, check in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.
2nd day: Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Verghina and the visit of the royal tombs from the Macedonian dynasty and the local archaeological museum. Lunch (not included). After lunch departure for Edessa, a location famous for its characteristic cascades and then Pella, the ancient capital of the Macedonian reign. In the evening return to Thessaloniki, dinner, and overnight.
3rd day: Breakfast and departure for Ouranoupolis where the group will embark on the cruise around “Mount Athos”. From on board the vessel, the group will be able to admire the famous Byzantine monasteries that render the location of Mount Athos a place of great importance religiously, historically and artistically. Lunch (not included). In the afternoon return to Thessaloniki, dinner, and overnight.
4th day: Breakfast and departure for a panoramic tour of the city of Thessaloniki and its locations of major importance such as its byzantine churches, its White Tower, the Arch of Galerius and the Rotunda. Departure for Kalambaka, lunch (not included) and a visit of the famous monasteries of Meteora, constructed as of the XIV century on the top of those geographical formations and rich of precious testimonies of Byzantine art. Check in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight.
5th day: Breakfast and departure to Delphi, home to the ancient sanctuary and oracle of god Apollo. Visit of the archeological site and the remains of the sanctuary and the temple of Apollo, the Castalia fountain, and the famous museum. Lunch (not included). Proceed to Olympia, check in, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
6th day: Breakfast and departure for the excursion of Olympia, the ancient sanctuary where the Olympic Games were born. Visit of the archaeological site of Jupiter, the Workshop of Fidias, the stadium and the local museum. Lunch (not included). In the afternoon departure for Loutraki. Check in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight.
7th day: Breakfast and departure for the region of Argolis. Stop at the famous Corinth canal. Proceed to Epidaurus and visit of the homonymous theatre, renowned for its perfect acoustics which is still today used for theatrical plays during the summer. Lunch (not included). Passing from Nauplion, the beautiful town known for having been the first capital of Greece, you will reach Mycenae where you will visit the Treasury of Atreus, the Palace, the Lions gate and the famous Royal Tombs where Agamemnon’s Tomb is thought to be. At the end of the visits, you will head to Athens, arriving there in the late afternoon check in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.
8th day: Breakfast and guided tour of the city of Athens and of the Acropolis. Panoramic tour of the city by bus driving in front of the main monuments and squares. Constitution square, the Parliament, the Unknown Soldier monument, the national library, Omonia square, Adrian’s Arch. Lunch (not included). In the afternoon excursion to Cape Sounion* reachable through the coastal road of Attica, where the temple of the god of the sea, Poseidon is situated. Check in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight.
* Alternatively, the group could stay in the downtown area of Athens to complete its visits.
9th day: Breakfast at the hotel and departure.
