Alternative tours – “Zagori Adventure” (Epirus Region: Northwestern Greece)

N1 EPIRUS + ALBANIA: Arrival by boat

1st day: Arrival at the port of Igoumenitsa and transfer to the hotel located at Bourazani or Konitza. Lunch. In the afternoon, visit the monastery of “Molyvdoskepastos” and stroll in the area. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

2nd day: The morning is dedicated to sports activities, lunch and in the afternoon, visit of the thematic naturalistic park. At the end of the visit, wine tasting at a traditional winery. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

3rd day: Full day excursion to southern Albania at the locations of Arghirokastro – Butrinto – Saint Seranta. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

4th day: A full day dedicated to sports activities: possibility to go Rafting – Trekking – Canyoning – mountain biking. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

5th day: Visit of the city of Ioannina and lunch at a restaurant by the lake. In the afternoon, visit of the Perama cave. In the evening, fish based dinner at a restaurant by the lake. Transfer to Igoumenitsa port for embarkation.

N2 EPIRUS + ALBANIA: Arrival by boat

1st day: Arrival at the port of Igoumenitsa and transfer to the coastal area of the region of Epirus (locations Parga – Sivota). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

2nd till 4th day: Leisure time in the hotel resort.

4th day: Visit of the site of Dodona. Proceed towards the location of Zitsa where during a stop, we’ll do some wine tasting of local typical wines. Then we’ll proceed to the location of Zagori, dinner, and overnight at the hotel.

5th day: A full day dedicated to sports activities. Alternatively, naturalistic and cultural visits can be organized in the larger area of Zagori. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

6th day: Full day excursion to southern Albania at the locations of Arghirokastro – Butrinto – Saint Seranta. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

7th day: Morning dedicated to hiking at the location of Papigo and Mikro Papigo. In the afternoon, a brief visit to Ioannina and the lake, Possibility to participate in a bike ride around the lake itself followed by a fish based dinner. Transfer to the port of Igoumenitsa and embarkation.

N3 EPIRUS + ALBANIA: Arrival via plane

1st day: Arrival at the airport of Preveza or Ioannina. Transfer at the location of Zagori. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

2nd day: A full day dedicated to sports activities. In the evening wine tasting of typical local wines. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

3rd day: Full day excursion to southern Albania at the locations of Arghirokastro – Butrinto – Saint Seranta. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

4th day: A full day dedicated to naturalistic and cultural visits. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

5th day: Possibility to offer either programmed excursions (i.e. archaeological site of Nechromanteio Acherondas) or leisure time. Transfer to the airport of Preveza or Ioannina for the departure.

N4 EPIRUS + METEORA: Arrival via plane

1st day: Arrival at the airport of Preveza or Ioannina. Transfer at the location of Ioannina. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

2nd day: The morning is dedicated to the visit of the city, possibility to participate at bike tour around the lake. In the afternoon, visit the cave of Perama. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

3rd day: Departure for the location of Metsovo, wine tasting at a typical local winery. Visit of the local ethnographic museum. Dinner and overnight at the hotel at Metsovo.

4th day: Full day excursion to the monasteries of Meteora. Return to the hotel at Metsovo, dinner and overnight.

5th day: Leisure time and the possibility to organize activities and/or excursions. Transfer to the airport of Preveza or Ioannina. Alternatively, we could propose a transfer to the port of Igoumenitsa, embarkation to Corfu island and extension of the program with leisure time at beach hotels.
